Kobe Bryant is keeping track of his haters

Kobe Bryant has made it clear that we have not seen the last of him despite suffering a torn Achilles tendon on Friday night. The Los Angeles Lakers' head trainer says the Black Mamba is aiming to be back for the start of next season and it seems like Kobe is serious about that goal. On his newly created Instagram account Bryant posted a picture of Sunday's Los Angeles Times front page. I'm keeping track of all doubters and haters he wrote in response to the article which suggested that he may never regain his full strength following surgery.

Kobe's optimism may not be entirely off base either. In an interview with Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times Dr. Neal ElAttrache (who performed the surgery) says there's a chance Bryant could return to his old form.

I can point to all of the scientific aspects of the repair but just as important if not more important is who is that Achilles attached to ElAttrache said. In this situation it's attached to Kobe Bryant who has figured out a way to get through some injuries that would ordinarily be career threatening. Some of the things he's had go on with him have ended guys' careers in the NBA.

There is no chance that this newspaper headline is the last thing Bryant will tweet as motivation. There will be no shortage of people doubting his ability to return (and understandably so) and you can bet we'll be getting a detailed behind the scenes look at his rehab through social media.
