Jay Zs new Cuba rap gets response from White House

In the wake of Florida lawmakers questioning his recent trip to Cuba with wife Beyonc Jay Z today released Open Letter a track that takes aim at politicians and more.

Politicians never did (expletive) for me / except lie to me distort history Jay Z raps in the song produced by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.

I done turned Havana to Atlanta/ Guayabera shirts and bandannas he boasts before he goes further noting Boy from the hood got White House clearance.

He says They wanna give me jail time and a fine Fine let me commit a real crime a reference to the repercussions of an unlicensed trip to Cuba.

And he throws in a line about the president. Obama said 'Chill you're going to get me impeached' / You don't need this (stuff) anyway chill with me on the beach.

The White House on Thursday challenged Jay Z's lyrics about getting White House clearance.

I guess nothing rhymes with Treasury joked Jay Carney the president's press secretary. Because Treasury offers and gives licenses for travel as you know and the White House has nothing to do with it.

He added I am absolutely saying that the White House and president on down has not had anything to do with anyone's travel to Cuba that is something Treasury handles.

At the briefing Carney added It's a song Carney said. The president did not communicate with Jay Z over this trip.
