Round Rock parade kicks off July 4th

ROUND ROCK Texas Crowds lined East Main Street in Round Rock Thursday morning for an Independence Day parade.

More than 150 soldiers from Fort Hood joined in the march. After the parade the celebration will move to Old Settlers Park. Starting at noon there will be vendor booths carnival rides face paining and a pepper eating contest.

A shootout is also planned. They are going to reinact the infamous story of Sam Bass and his gang as they tried to rob a bank.

Thursday night there will be a fireworks show and music at the Lakeview Pavilion. The fireworks show will be synched with the fireworks at Dell Diamond begining after the Round Rock Express game.
