It's almost that time

Royal protection officers left Kate Middleton's family home in Bucklebury earlier today which means it's believed that both Prince William and his expectant wife are headed to London.

This marks the first sign that the royal baby is on its way in due time.

E News can confirm that the Duchess of Cambridge left the home by car and that no helicopters were involved.

But not so fast The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could easily be headed for their mainstay in Kensington Palace and not the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital where she's slated to give birth.

A source told E News exclusively that Kensington Palace has been operating under the assumption that the 31 year old is two to three days late at this point in her pregnancy.

The revelation comes amid conflicting reports that have surfaced on her due date and whether she is indeed later than expected.

Initial reports claimed that the soon to be Prince or Princess of Cambridge was set to arrive in the world on July 13 or 14 a time frame that has led royal watchers to believe that Middleton has missed her due date.

But the U.K.'s The Telegraph has a very different story The paper reports that hospital staffers were told that the duchess is actually due today July 19 and that they were asked to be on standby for as early as a month before.
