2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs nightly GIF recap Bruins push Rangers to brink

It was a wild bloody Tuesday night in the NHL as the Boston Bruins took a 3 0 series lead after a victory against the New York Rangers while the San Jose Sharks protected their home ice to tie their series with the Los Angeles Kings.

To the GIFs

Ryan Callahan meet Zdeno Chara's elbow. Zdeno Chara meet Ryan Callahan's stick.

This is what Chara thinks of there being no penalty on the play

Anyway the Bruins opened with several scoring chances on Henrik Lundqvist. And just because they got to Lundqvist for five goals in Game 2 doesn't mean he isn't still an otherworldly goaltender. The Bruins found that out quickly.

Backhand doesn't work...

Ahem he said backhand doesn't work

Those saves allowed the Rangers to strike first on Taylor Pyatt's deflection of a Ryan McDonagh shot.

Brad Marchand tried to tie it up by kicking at the puck then running away.

That won't get it done either. Johnny Boychuk figured out how to do it though You shoot the puck with your stick.

Shawn Thornton told Derek Dorsett to stop running around hitting players and fight instead. Dorsett declined and told Thornton what he thought of him

Tyler Seguin and Chris Kreider pulled off an impressive synchronized high stick routine with both taking it under the visor at the same time.

No penalties called on that play and none called on Patrice Bergeron's visor crash with Steve Eminger which required some cleanup

Scrub scrub scrub scrub. Missed a spot though.

The Bruins ended up getting the winner late giving them a commanding 3 0 series lead. It came off a bit of luck as this bouncing puck eluded Lundqvist.

Out West the Sharks and Kings battled.

The wooly Brent Burns opened scoring on this feed from Joe Thornton.

Logan Couture and Dustin Brown opened the second period with their own game of chicken which we'll call a draw.

The Sharks got the second goal when Couture deflected Dan Boyle's shot past Jonathan Quick.

But it should have been 2 1 at the intermission Dustin Penner is slow but not so slow that the refs were justified in blowing the whistle before he knocked this loose puck over the line.

Not getting that goal hurt. The Kings made a strong push at the end of the second and in the third when they outshot the Sharks 14 2. They got one but only one back when Mike Richards didn't give up on this power play opportunity.

Finally Burns left his mark on the game one more time with this freight train hit on Brad Richardson.

Hopefully someone retrieved his glove.
