The new Collegiate Veterans Success Center located on the fourth floor of Yon Hall in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium will open April 2.
The center will be the designated spot on campus for student veterans to be together study and support each other.
The entire process from the initial brainstorming stage to the grand opening of the Success Center took only five months according to Dave Kratzer vice president of student affairs at the University of Florida.
I think it was because everyone just wanted to help the veterans Kratzer said.
Student Government donated $25 000 of their funds to advance the Success Center and Student Affairs also provided money to the project.
According to Kratzer the space includes a kitchen and is fully accessible for disabled veterans.
We hope to send a big message out there the University of Florida is a very veteran friendly place he said.
The Collegiate Veterans Success Center will hold an open house and resource fair April 2 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m..
The Success Center is located in room 418 in Yon Hall which can be accessed through Gate 14 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
